I am really fratustated with changing batteries of wireless mouse. battery lasting upto 7-14 days..
frequence disconnection due to low battery i have to click on / off button few times get power back after battery lose 50% of its capacity.
There is No issue with New Mouse OEM battery:
They may lasts upto couple of motnhs . they said usually 1 year in the prodcut description.
Other problem scroller not works after couple of months. I had 7+ wireless mouses with scorller issues.
Why after market batteries Not lasts longer than OEM Mouse batteries
AA Batteries, retail vs. OEM difference?
battey replaced date | how many days it lasts |
march 14th 10:40AM aa panasonic | 17 days |
feb 25, 2025 10:20PM 1.5v aa panasonic | o |
Battery volatge & Capacity 1.5v and 1300mah
New battery has same capacity & Voltages as OEM Mouse Battery.
So how to know how long it lasts
I purchased logitech, lenovo, dell, hp wirelss mouses.. never tried zerbonics(seems local cheap brand). but those premium brands also not lasts more than 1 year due to scorller issues. and frequent battery cahnges.
Now i am using 500 range lenovo wiresless mouse its marked specified battey voltage in the tray i will update battery lasting details along with replacment date here.
Lenovo 130 wireless mouse
Model: MA200w Rating: 1.5v 40mA
A 1.5V 40mA rating could refer to the voltage and current of a battery or electrical component
Normal batteries AA/AAA having 1.5V as voltage rating constantly supply 50mA current for 1800-2600mAh capacity charge
40mA: maximum peak current draw from the 1.5V battery. The mouse will NOT use 40mA all the time, it says “maximum” for a reason.
If the battery cannot supply the required current, the voltage levels will sag, and the device will malfunction
Lets look at wireless mouses on amazon

Dell WM118 Wireless Mouse, 1000DPI, 2.4 Ghz with USB Nano Receiver, Optical Tracking, 12-Months Battery Life, Plug and Play, Ambidextrous – Black
its lasts upto few months i did’nt notice 12months more or less. but after replacing retail batteries they have recycle period avg few weeks to month
Keeping Spare batteries
At begining: I’d just keep a pack of 20 AA batteries or so in a desk drawer, as it’ll take many years for it to chew through it, even if you leave the mouse on 24/7. Mice are generally very light on power.
At the end; i am fed up changing batteries.
Recharble batteries waste of time
1 AA reacharble battery costs around 100INR non reachrble only 10INR. and it won’t last longer than 10 reacharge cycles. based on my experience also buying recharble tray cost another 500 that also has shelf life of 1-2 years.
