treatments for various diseases and illnesses in the kidney, liver, heart, lung, pancreas, etc.
In addition, it includes treatments such as
- Neuro-surgery
- Cancer treatment
- Pediatric congenital malformations,
- Burns and post-burn contracture surgeries
- Prostheses ( a man-made device that replaces a missing body part or improves the function of a body part)
- Polytrauma (severely injured patients usually with associated injury (i.e. two or more severe injuries in at least two areas of the body)
- Cochlear implant surgery with auditory-verbal therapy for children under two years.
In addition, the scheme also covers coverage for follow-up services, such as consultation, investigation, etc., of up to one year. The beneficiaries can access the treatment using their Aarogyasri Card Telangana.
*Exclusions include high-end procedures such as * (Not covered)
- Gamma-knife procedures in neurosurgery
- Hip and knee replacements
- Bone marrow
- Cardiac and liver transplants
- Aided devices for cardiac failures.
In addition, diseases included in the national programs, such as malaria, tuberculosis, leprosy, infectious diseases, filaria, HIV/AIDS, gastroenteritis, and jaundice, are also excluded.
What are the coverages of the Telangana Aarogyasri Health Insurance Scheme?
The coverages of the Telangana Aarogyasri Health Insurance Scheme are as follows.
1. Cancer
The cost of treatment for various types of cancer, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.
2. Heart disease
Medical expenses related to heart conditions, including
- coronary artery bypass surgery,
- angioplasty, (heart stunt)
- and valve replacements, are included under this scheme.
3. Kidney disease
The cost of treatment for kidney conditions, including
- dialysis and
- kidney transplantation.
4. Neurological conditions
You get coverage for the cost of treatment for neurological conditions, including
- stroke,
- Parkinson’s disease,
- and multiple sclerosis.
5. Orthopaedic conditions
The scheme covers the cost of treatment for orthopaedic conditions, including
- joint replacements
- and spinal surgery.
6. Gastrointestinal conditions
The scheme offers coverage for the cost of treatment for gastrointestinal disorders, including
- surgery for ulcerative colitis
- and Crohn’s disease.
7. Respiratory conditions
Coverage for the cost of treatment for respiratory conditions, including
- asthma
- and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
8. Burns
Telangana Aarogyasri Health Insurance scheme covers the cost of treatment for burns, including surgery and skin grafting.
9. Neonatal care
You get coverage for the cost of treatment for newborns with certain medical conditions. This is not an exhaustive list, the scheme may also cover other illnesses.
